Transnational training and Workshop for Digital Curators

From 7th to 11th November the Partners of Next-Museum Project met in Patras (Greece) to take part in the training and Workshop for Digital Curators which took place at the Lithografeion Theatre. During the 5-day workshop participants – members and experts from Fondazione Marche Cultura, Univpm Università Politecnica delle Marche, Diputación de Alicante, University of Patras, Narodnog muzeja Zadar and Inercia Digital had the opportunity to receive key competences to act as Digital Curators, learning from each other, sharing practices and experiences, in order to generate and spread successful strategies adoptable by all parties in their own declination.

The topics addressed during the meeting are: Design Thinking and its importance for museums, Audience Development, Networking skills, digital opportunities for cultural heritage and museums, Advanced 3D Digitization and Virtual Experiences with Virtual Tour, VR and AR, Gigapixel images, Mobile geolocated app and Gamification for cultural heritage, Digital Marketing for museums.
Interesting case studies have been presented during the workshop and the participants also had the chance to visit strategic sites in the city such as the Archaeological Museum of Patras, the Museum of Science and Technology and the Botanical and Zoological Museum in the Dept of Biology of the University. These 5 days have been full of ideas, contents and cooperation, incredibly valuable and inspiring for everyone involved. And now we are ready to move on to the next phase of the project!
